Hello, I am J.S. Whaldo
Welcome. I'm glad you're here.
I'm J.S. Whaldo, a writer who believes the best stories are often found in the moments we never planned. Sometimes they happen halfway around the world. Sometimes they happen in our own backyard.
Travel has a way of reminding us to slow down, look closer, and laugh when things don't go according to plan.
Along the way, I've learned that the most memorable journeys aren't measured by miles traveled or countries visited. They're measured by the people we meet, the unexpected detours, and the stories we bring home.
That's what you'll find here.
Travel stories. Reflections on everyday life. A little humor. Honest observations. And hopefully a few moments that make you smile, think, or see the world from a different perspective.
Before becoming a full-time writer, I spent more than thirty years in the mortgage industry. My career taught me to ask questions, pay attention to details, and look beyond the obvious. Those same instincts shape the way I travel and the way I write.
When I'm not writing, you'll usually find me exploring with my husband, spending time with our rescue dog Jax, or looking for the next story waiting around the corner.
Photography is another passion of mine. Every image you see on this website was captured during our travels or everyday adventures. All photographs are part of our stock photography business, Whaldo Digital Content, which owns the rights to every image featured here. If you'd like to browse or license our photography collection, you can visit Whaldo Digital Content here.
If you enjoy these stories, I'd love to stay in touch. Once a month, I send a newsletter with highlights from the previous month's adventures, behind-the-scenes updates, a few things that have caught my attention, and a travel tip to help make your next journey a little easier. I'd love to have you along for the ride.
Whether you stopped by for travel inspiration, one of my reflections, or simply a good story, I hope you leave with something worth taking with you.
Thank you for spending a little time here.
Happy travels,
J.S. Whaldo
